This ancient elm is still standing but its' gnarled limbs will not withstand the winds of time much longer. It has had a good life, been a refuge for multiple birds, felt the warm sun and breezes, and faced many hardships, but now its' strength is gone. It is surrounded by younger, stronger trees, its’ children, and grandchildren. When it has fallen, they will live on. This oil piece is done on Russian birch wood panel, 20x20x1.5 inches. The work is protected with Gamvar varnish, giving it a luxurious sheen. It comes ready to hang immediately.
