Octopus is an Alcohol Ink piece on claybord. The background was accomplished by blowing through a straw and the octopus was accomplished through brush work. Claybord is a hardboard cut from premium grade 13 ply birch plywood and features a Kaolin clay ground formula similar to clay gesso grounds. The surface is sanded to an ultra smooth finish. The back of the piece is covered in black felt and is presented on a black wooden easel. The claybord is 5”x7” and with the easel the dimensions are L9.5” x W 7 1/8” x D 1 3/8”.
