Nova Scotia has some wonderful older well cared for homes. This home in the Annapolis Valley sits on a large acreage of beautifully looked after gardens, but I was intrigued by the lane leading up to the back door of the house, where a venerable oak stood overlooking those who drove in. Underneath, the bright tulip bed made a cheery welcome for any visitors coming over for their mid-morning coffee or tea. An idyllic scene, and most welcoming. It reminds me of a quieter life style than most of us have today. The piece is 11x14 x .75-inches, on a stretched canvas, unframed.
