| A hand turned from maple wood bowl that is 8.75 inches in diameter by 2 inches high. It has been finished with tung oil to give it a durable and attractive finish. Tung oil is a natural nut oil that gives a very protective and durable finish while being safe for food contact. This bowl requires only simple hand washing and that it not be immersed in water to keep it in good shape(no dishwashers or microwaves please). The wood for this bowl was salvaged from a tree that cut down by a home owner in North Vancouver's Lynn Valley. It was rough turned and then allowed to aìr dry slowly before it was finish turned. This ensures that the wood is stable and won't crack or change shape drastically. |
