Larissa Sayer
Born in Vancouver and raised on Salt Spring Island, Larissa has spent most of her life exploring, drawing, and painting on the beautiful West Coast. While living on Salt Spring Island, she worked and played in a cozy little space named for its frequent wild visitors, RavenHart Studio. Her photographs illuminate the intricate and often overlooked small details of nature, while her paintings are a celebration of the dramatic lighting and lush landscapes of BC. She captures a quiet beauty and playfulness in many of her subjects, human and otherwise. Larissa acknowledges with gratitude that she is creating art while living in the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples- Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations.
